Frequently Asked Questions

Please review the questions below and contact careers-support@uni.edu for additional questions.

Are references required?

Professional references will be requested if a candidate is selected for the interview stage. At that time, we will ask that you provide at least three but no more than five professional references. References must include each reference's first and last name, their contact email address and phone number, and a description of your professional relationship to the reference.

Can I delete my application?

By accessing Candidate Home in the account you created, you have the option to "View Application" and "Withdraw Application". While the viewing option is available at any time, the option to withdraw your application will only appear while the search, and your application, is active.

Can I edit my application after submitting?

Once an application is submitted, it cannot be edited. Please review your application completely before submitting. You will have the option to view and/or withdraw your active application(s) through the Candidate Home after submitting. If you choose to withdraw an application, you may complete a new application while the job is still posted. Please note that the committee may not review applications submitted after the Full Consideration Date, this includes candidates who withdraw and resubmit an application.

How long does the search process take?

The length of the search process can vary widely based on the size of the candidate pool, whether phone screens are conducted prior to interview selections, the time it takes to schedule and conduct interviews, etc. You will receive an email confirming that you have successfully applied for the position. Upon review of your application, the search committee will determine if they'd like to move your application forward for a phone screen/interview. If they've determined that your application is no longer under consideration, you will receive communication by email informing you of their decision.

Will you consider me for other jobs once I apply?

No. To be considered for an opening, you must complete an application for each position you are interested in. An application for one position is not transferable to other positions.

What is a full consideration date?

The Full Consideration Date is the date candidates must apply by in order to guarantee full consideration by the search committee. Applications received after this date are considered at the discretion of the search committee based on how far they have progressed into the hiring process. The Full Consideration Date must be at least 10 business days from the advertising start date for non-temporary positions

How do I save my information for future applications?

There are multiple options for uploading information and documents into an application. After you complete your first application, you will have the option to use your most recent application when applying for another position. Simply click this button when beginning a new application and any fields you completed or documents uploaded to your most recent application will populate. You may review and edit this information before submitting.

Can I be notified of future job openings?

You may elect to set up and maintain job alerts. Please refer to the Job Alerts page for a step by step guide: https://dev-careers.uni.edu/job-alerts

What can I do if the file size of my document is too large (exceeds 5MB)?
